IxDD: Cyber-Duck

Hosted by Cyber-Duck

Matt Gibson
Phenomenal user experiences are all about connecting with your users, building platforms and experiences that put inclusivity and diversity front and centre. We rely on extensive research and data to achieve great UX, but do we lose the sense of real users when we rely too heavily on data? Are we neglecting something?

In this talk, Cyber-Duck's Chief Production Officer, Matt Gibson, will show how we can lose sight of real user needs by addressing only what the data tells us. The solution? More empathy in design. Matt will show why it's vital that we empathise with our users to build inclusive and diverse user experiences. Using his methods, we'll always base our designs on how users actually interact with and think about them.

This World Interaction Design Day, join us to learn more about Cyber-Duck's approach to inclusivity and diversity in design.

Sam Hooper
Sometimes, as designers we struggle to see the wood for the trees. The wood we're talking about is the form – how often have you seen an inaccessible form on the internet? Why does it need that information? What a horrible layout!

In this talk, Sam Hooper will look at how we can design forms and how to design with inclusivity and diversity in mind. We need to create forms that address the needs of our personas, and it's only by thinking inclusively that we can achieve that. Ultimately, forms that have high usability will be – you guessed it – used more, which is great for us and great for our clients.

Join us on September 25th 2018 at the Platform in Leeds to learn more about creating inclusive and user-friendly forms. This event is part of World Interaction Design Day.
